As for some other Lolla-related hunches I have...

-I'm guessing that in some form, Lupe Fiasco will be appearing at this year's festival. I chatted with Lupe for a few seconds at a record signing in December and asked whether he planned on playing Lollapalooza again this year. He told me he really hoped he could play, but that he hadn't heard anything from the Lolla organizers. My guess is that if the second hottest rapper in the Chicago rap game still wants to play, Lollapalooza organizers will be rolling out the red carpet for him.

-Along with the Lupe, there have been a lot of rumors swirling around about Kanye West. In an interview with WGN's Dean Richards, Lollapalooza brain trust Perry Ferrell dropped some hints regarding the third "major headliner." Watch this interview and decided for yourselves, but I smell a possible first-time CRS performance at Lollapalooza 2008. -My third hunch is that Rhymefest, another Chicago rapper, will be performing at Lolla 08 in a special performance with punk rock marching band and Chicago natives Mucca Pazza. I heard through a third party source closely linked to Mucca Pazza that the band would be backing Rhymefest for what promises to be a very special Lolla show.

-Finally, Jack Johnson will not be at Lollapalooza this year.


Lollapalooza's official lineup is being announced on April 7th.
